With less than 100 days to go before the UK leaves the EU, it seems that only one in nine businesses have a good understanding of the risks of not being prepared.
There is no doubt that there will be changes from 1 January for businesses as we embark on a new relationship with the EU. With this in mind, it is vital that your business prepares now.
Regardless of whether we reach a trade agreement with the EU, from 1 January there will be guaranteed changes to:

  • the way businesses import and export goods;
  • the process for hiring people from the EU; and
  • the way businesses provide services in EU markets.

The government are encouraging business to:
1.   Check what actions you need to take by visitinggov.uk/transition.
2.   Sign-up for updates.
3.   Attend government webinars for additional support, you can sign up to attend BEIS webinars now. (These cover general areas such as visas, work permits, and tariffs – as well as information tailored to particular industries).

Unless you take action, there is a risk that business operations may be interrupted. You should also check with your suppliers and customers that they are taking action.
