The Kickstart Scheme offers funding to create new job placements for 16 – 24 year olds on Universal Credit at risk of long term unemployment due to Coronavirus. Employers of all sizes can now apply for funding which covers:
- 100% of the National Minimum Wage for 25 hours per week for 6 months
- associated employer National Insurance contributions
- employer minimum automatic enrolment contributions
Employers can pay a higher wage and offer more hours but the funding will not cover this.
There is also a £1,500 grant per job placement available for setup costs, support and training.
